Epitaph : The Norma Explores Podcast

Welcome to Epitaph: East Anglia. The podcast from Norma Explores.

When I started the Norma Explores archive in early 2024 I knew I would come across a lot of interesting places around the UK. I quickly realized that many of local history's most fascinating tales are to be found in the churchyards and cemeteries or our towns and villages. I have now started collecting those tales together in an occasional podcast. The podcast isn't my main task at the moment and I don't have the free time available for a regular schedule, but if you join me on Spotify, Substack or YouTube you will see it drop in to your feed when episodes are released.  In each episode I research the graves I find with interesting epitaphs and visit the graves of local people with extraordinary lives - and deaths. I cover everything from vintage true crime to accidents of humble working folk and beyond. If you find a walk around a graveyard to be as interesting as I do, this should be your new favourite page! Here I link all the podcast episodes as they are released and share extra info on the sources we use in researching the stories.

The podcast episodes are released via my Substack, but you also listen on your favourite podcast app. Episode scripts are uploaded to Substack the same day as each episode goes live. The scripts sometimes contain extra info that gets edited out of final episodes and also feature photos from our location visits.
